South Wicklow Drama Festival 2023.

Opening night, Saturday March 18th

Festival will run until March 26th.

To open the festival this year, we are delighted to have Retired Teacher, Actor and renowned Musician and Story Teller PJ Arthur, who is no stranger to local audiences. Once again the Festival has a varied and interesting line-up for Drama Lovers. The Adjudicator for the Festival will be Anna Walker ADA, who has been adjudicating Festivals around the country since 2008, including a number of All Ireland Drama Festivals.

The line up of plays is as follows (nightly at 8 p.m. except final night – 7.30 p.m. start).

Saturday, March 18: Lislea Dramatic Players, ‘See How They Run’ by Philip King. Sponsor: Jim Byrne’s Bar and Lounge, Carnew.

Sunday, March 19: Wayside Players ‘The Field’ by John B Keane. Sponsor: Boggan Motors, Gorey.

Monday, March 20: Enniscorthy Drama Group ‘Farsiders’ by Fintan Kelly. Sponsor: Quinn Property Ltd, Gorey and Carnew.

Tuesday, March 21: Kilmuckridge Drama Group ‘Sive’ by John B Keane. Sponsor: McCrea’ sBar and Lounge, Carnew.

Wednesday, March 22: Bridge Drama ‘Big Big Sky’ by Tom Wells. Sponsor: Osborne’s Centra, Carnew.

Thursday, March 23: Bunclody/Kilmyshall Drama Group ‘The Night Alive’ by Conor McPherson. Sponsor: Kenny’s Corner House, Carnew.

Friday, March 24: Kilrush Drama Group ‘The Beauty Queen of Leenane’ by Martin McDonagh. Sponsor: Candy’s Costcutter, Carnew.

Saturday, March 25: Thurles Drama Group ‘The Seafarer’ by Conor McPherson. Sponsor: K & K Windows, Craanford.

Sunday, March 26: Wexford Drama Group ‘The Father’ by Florian Zeller. Sponsor: South EastSecurity and Safety Ltd.

In conjunction with the drama an art exhibition will be held in Robert’s Garage Carnew by Carnew Community Care art group from March 16th to 25th.
